Remembering a Distinguished Biomed Pioneer

Leslie Geddes, a Purdue University distinguished professor of biomedical engineering and recipient of the National Medal of Technology, has died at age 88. Geddes, the winner of the AAMI Laufman-Greatbach prize in 1987, created innovations ranging from burn treatments to miniature defibrillators and ligament repair to tiny blood pressure monitors for premature infants.
